Ivalua functional and technical consultant for senior missions

I join your Ivalua programme as a senior functional and technical consultant, a functional or technical lead, or a programme manager. Certified Ivalua L1–L3, I have delivered three full-cycle implementations at BNP Paribas: design, configuration, integrations, custom SQL and migration.

Who hires an Ivalua techno-functional consultant?

Procurement, procurement-systems and IT leads with an Ivalua role to fill now: a build that needs a senior consultant, a programme without a lead, or a platform in production that needs someone who reads both the procurement process and the database. The project cannot wait for a hire, and the role needs someone who has run the whole cycle.

If you are an integrator or a consulting firm staffing a client project, the page for Ivalua integrators is written for you.

Roles and the experience behind them

One senior profile across design, configuration, SQL and delivery, so a requirement does not change hands between a business consultant and a technical one.

What does a techno-functional consultant handle on Ivalua?

On Ivalua, a requirement starts as a procurement process and ends as configuration, a workflow, a data flow or a SQL query. A techno-functional consultant follows it along that whole path. On the BNP Paribas implementations, that covered:

  • The modules: suppliers, sourcing, contract management (CLM), catalogue, workflows (BPM) and e-procurement.
  • The interfaces: supplier and ERP interfaces, the catalogue, the system-to-system data flows.
  • Advanced custom SQL for reports, controls and data flows.
  • Migration from one version to the next: data quality controls, duplicate detection, flow documentation.
  • Change management and user support when entities go live, in France and abroad.

What do you get from a mission?

The deliverables follow the role and are agreed in the proposal. For a consultant or lead role, they are usually:

  • Functional specifications, with the design decisions written down.
  • Configuration delivered in your environments, tested against the specification.
  • Interface specifications and documentation of each data flow.
  • SQL reports and controls your team can run and maintain.
  • For a lead or programme role: the plan, budget follow-up, reporting and steering committee material.

How does a mission run?

  1. You describe the role, the scope and your planning, by booking a call or by email.
  2. We go through the context: Ivalua version, modules in scope, interfaces, team and governance.
  3. I send a written proposal: role, scope, duration and day rate.
  4. I work inside your team, remotely from Cape Town (UTC+2), in French or English, with your tools and your reporting.

What does a senior Ivalua mission cost?

Missions are billed on a day rate, quoted on request. I give the rate in the written proposal, after a first call on the role and the duration, so the figure you receive is the one that applies.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work remotely or on site?

Remotely, from Cape Town, with European teams, in French or English. Cape Town is on UTC+2, so the working day overlaps the European one. Workshops and steering committees can run by video. If your project needs time on site, raise it in the first call.

Can you work through our integrator or a consulting firm?

Yes. I work directly for the client or inside an integrator's team. Integrators and consulting firms have their own page with the profile and the way to engage: for Ivalua integrators.

Do you write the SQL and work on the interfaces yourself?

Yes. On the BNP Paribas implementations I wrote advanced custom SQL for reports, controls and data flows, and worked on the supplier and ERP interfaces, the catalogue and the system-to-system flows. The same person writes the specification and checks what the database does with it.

Can a mission cover L2/L3 support and hypercare after go-live?

Yes. I offer L2/L3 support and hypercare as a mission: incident analysis, configuration and SQL fixes, and user support while entities switch over. The experience behind it: on the BNP Paribas rollouts I supported users in France and abroad, and I configured the platform and wrote its custom SQL.

Why is the day rate not shown on the page?

Because a lead role, a build phase and a run contract are not the same commitment. I quote the day rate in a written proposal once we have spoken about the role and the duration, and that is the rate that applies.

Can you lead an Ivalua team instead of joining one?

Yes. When one consultant is not enough, I put together a team of certified techno-functional consultants from my network and lead it, accountable to you. See an Ivalua team led by me.

30 minutes. Your project, my honest read.

Tell me where the programme stands. You leave the call with a view on risk and the next step, whether or not we work together.
